Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games Mobility Design

eKamo

eKamo (Japanese for electronic-Duck) is a vehicle design for the autonomous public transport of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

The base concept for this project revolved around the interaction of a family of ducks. A family of ducks share a psychological connection and they move as a group. In the same way, the aim was to create a vehicle that conveyed safety from the inside, as well as the outside. Since this public transport will be modular and autonomous, the design of each cart and the synergy between them follows the way a safe of ducks and ducklings move on land. Several sketch designs were proposed and prototyped with a 3D printer.
