Alvin graduated with a degree in computer science from Purdue University in December 2023. While his studies centered on machine learning and computer graphics, his true passion lay in using this knowledge to improve people’s everyday experiences in meaningful ways, especially through technology. During this period of exploration, Alvin discovered Leelab and Kansei Design. Their philosophy immediately resonated with him, and he soon joined them as a research student.
His current research focuses on exploring whether adaptive music therapy can reduce stress in digital workplaces. He draws on his experience in procedural content generation and machine learning to craft personalized, responsive musical experiences that can potentially alleviate how people feel in the moment.
Alvin is always eager to try new things. His goal is to experience everything at least once, believing this is how he will better understand the world and the people around him.
