Abril graduated with a degree in Industrial Design from Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico. She believes that design is a powerful tool for creating positive change in the world, emphasizing empathy and inclusion for both users and the environment in every project.
Her research focuses on exploring how affective data and everyday human behavior can be visualized to better understand emotional experiences in daily life. By combining kansei design principles with data visualization, she aims to create tools or installations that reveal the richness of subjective, lived experiences and support more empathetic and human-centered design practices.
Other interests include music, movies, art, sports, and continuing to learn from people through their diverse perspectives and cultures!
